Come Away With Me

This song got its start one day when I sat down with a blank slate and just started playing. Often times, a melody reveals itself and becomes the foundation on which I build the song. This song's melody jumped out immediately and then seemed to lead me straight into a brick wall of no where. No matter what direction I tried to go, the brick wall blocking the song's progress seemed to grow higher and close in around me. So it sat in a file on my computer...and sat...and sat, until finally, one of the bricks began to crack and the daylight on the other side of the wall began to shine through. Finally, a "chorus" emerged...then a bridge. After several months of stagnant occupation of a file inside Studio One, it all finally came together.
